50 Years of Giving Help and Hope to People Around the World

Founded in 1955, the World Rehabilitation Fund is the pioneer organization devoted to the development and implementation of rehabilitation programs for people with disabilities throughout the world. With a mission to enable people with disabilities to achieve community and social integration through rehabilitation, our core staff and field representatives work closely with a team of consultants to develop culturally appropriate initiatives that address all aspects of rehabilitation, from incident through reintegration.

WRF focuses on all aspects of rehabilitation, from injury through socio-economic reintegration by:

      • Assisting indigenous organizations in developing countries
        to strengthen their capacity and competency to meet the
        needs of people with disabilities;

      • Upgrading skills of rehabilitation service providers, such as
        physicians, therapists, health promoters, nurses, social workers,
        and vocational rehabilitation specialists;

      • Training rehabilitation professionals throughout the world in the
        fabrication and fitting of artificial limbs, orthopedic braces, and
        other assistive technology appropriate for the geographic
        area they serve;

      • Developing community-based programs for physical, psychological,
        and socio-economic rehabilitation;

      • Collaborating with industry in the enhancement of vocational
        training, job readiness, and job placement programs through
        increased employer involvement;

      • Collecting and distributing donations of prostheses, orthoses,
        wheelchairs and other assistive devices for hospitals and
        clinics around the world.
